I was contacted by Derek Young, owner of Forever Young Shows, about doing the promotional material for Reading Town Sudbury 2017.
The theme for 2017 was: All Aboard! Celebrate Reading Culture
First thing Surreal Graphics did was create an illustration to carry through the branding of this year’s theme. A train coming out of an open book, with the landscape featuring elements one would find in Greater Sudbury (rocks, trees and, of course, the water tower).
As part of the Canada 150 celebrations, Reading Town Sudbury was having a special display of local writer’s stories at the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum. The All Aboard was changed to Tales from the Rails, and nine pull-up 33″x81″ banners were designed featuring local writer’s stories, along with an additional pull-up banner displaying the logos of the sponsors.

- Four quarter page black and white print ads
